Donna
I wanted to share this beautiful poem I received today... My First Christmas In Heaven I see countless Christmas trees Around the world below With tiny lights, like Heaven's stars Reflecting in the snow. The sight is so spectacular, Please wipe away the tear. For I am spending Christmas With Jesus Christ this year. I hear the many Christmas songs That people hold so dear, But the sounds of music can't compare With the Christmas choir up here. I have no words to tell you, The joy their voices bring. For it is beyond description To hear the angels sing. I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart; But I am not so far away, We really aren't apart. So be happy for me, dear ones, You know I hold you dear And be glad I'm spending Christmas With Jesus Christ this year. I sent you each a special gift, From my heavenly home above, I sent you each a memory Of my undying love. After all, love is a precious gift More precious than pure gold; It was always most important In the stories Jesus told. Please love and keep each other, As my Father said to do. For I can't count the blessings Or love he has for each of you. So have a Merry Christmas And wipe away the tear Remember I'm spending Christmas With Jesus Christ this year. flwrjunke
Oh Donna, That is just beautiful. I keep thinking about how my Christmas is going to be so different without Mom, but hadn't thought about what it will be like for our lost loved one. This gives me some peace. Thank you. babesdaughter
It's probably too late this year, but there is a very nice ornament that comes packaged with that poem. My hospice counselor gave me one last year....here's a website: http://www.abbeypress.com/abbey//Updates/40years/33541.asp?Redirect=true&uid=6347189601 I found them at a local Hallmark as well.....I'm sure there are other places to get them. It's a lovely, lovely poem. It gave me great comfort to hang the ornament on the tree this year.
cindi o'h
A friend gave a copy of that poem to me the year my brother, John, had died. I was still grieving heartily at Christmastime from his death Oct. 12. The poem touched my heart and sent me blubbering. It was a comfort and a good deserved cry. Thanks, Donna, for posting and for the memory. Cindi o'h
