When I think of this board and how I felt when I found it, this is the song that comes to my mind, for the angels that have been and gone and those that continue helping others through the journey:

Angels Among Us

Alabama

I was walking home from school on a cold winter day

Took a shortcut through the woods and I lost my way

It was gettin' late I was scared and alone

Then a kind old man took my hand and led me home

Mama couldn't see him though he was standing there

But I knew in my heart he was the answer to my prayers

CHORUS

Oh I believe there are angels among us

Sent down to us from somewhere up above

They come to you and me in our darkest hours

To show us how to live, to teach us how to give

To guide us with the light of love

When life held troubled time and had me down on my knees

There's always been someone to come along and comfort me

A kind word from a stranger to lend a helping hand

A phone call from a friend just to say I understand

Now ain't it kind of funny at the dark end of the road

Someone lights the way with just a single ray of hope

(REPEAT CHORUS)

They wear so many faces

Show up in the strangest places

To grace us with their mercies

In our time of need

(REPEAT CHORUS)

Guide us with a light of love

One Day at a Time Sweet Jesus

Christie Lane (gospel)

Im only human,Im just a woman.

Lord, help me believe in all

that I can be and in all that

I am.

Show me the stairway, I have to

climb.Lord, for my sake will you

teach me to take one day at a time.

CHORUS

One day at a time,sweet Jesus that's

all Im asking from you.

Just give me the strength to do everyday

what I have to do.

Yesterday's gone sweet Jesus and tomorrow may never be mine.

Lord, help me today and show me the way, One day at a time.

Do you remember when you walked among men?

Well, Jesus you know if your looking below,

its worse now than then.

We're pushing and shoving and Im crying in my

mind.

Just give me the strength to to do everyday

what I have to do.

Yesterday's gone sweet Jesus and tomorrow may never be mine.

Lord, help me today and show me the way. One day at a time.

Lord, for my sake, teach me to take one day at a time.

I love this song...my mother used to always listen to it...I never knew what the song meant as a child. I of course took everyday and everything for granted.I know now having my dad dx with cancer has taught me some serious lessons in life. I don't know why this song popped into my head, but it did. I haven't heard this song since I was a child. I believe it was laid on my heart tonight for a reason. May God bless all the beautiful people on this board! Wow, I feel so blessed! I didn't intend for my emotions to overwhelm me,but they did. I feel convicted to tell someone these lyrics!

God Bless and each and every person on this board are in my prayers.

Hugs,Beth

A song with special meaning to me is "Long as I can see the light". Creedence Clearwater Revival does it well, but the Ted Hawkins version is awesome.

Another of my favorites, though corny, is "Wind Beneath My Wings" (I know, I know!). It just makes me emotional every time I hear it and it is so fitting in so many ways.

"Wind Beneath My Wings"

It must have been cold there in my shadow,

to never have sunlight on your face.

You were content to let me shine, that's your way.

You always walked a step behind.

So I was the one with all the glory,

while you were the one with all the strength.

A beautiful face without a name for so long.

A beautiful smile to hide the pain.

Did you ever know that you're my hero,

and everything I would like to be?

I can fly higher than an eagle,

for you are the wind beneath my wings.

It might have appeared to go unnoticed,

but I've got it all here in my heart.

I want you to know I know the truth, of course I know it.

I would be nothing without you.

Did you ever know that you're my hero?

You're everything I wish I could be.

I could fly higher than an eagle,

for you are the wind beneath my wings.

Did I ever tell you you're my hero?

You're everything, everything I wish I could be.

Oh, and I, I could fly higher than an eagle,

for you are the wind beneath my wings,

'cause you are the wind beneath my wings.

Oh, the wind beneath my wings.

You, you, you, you are the wind beneath my wings.

Fly, fly, fly away. You let me fly so high.

Oh, you, you, you, the wind beneath my wings.

Oh, you, you, you, the wind beneath my wings.

Fly, fly, fly high against the sky,

so high I almost touch the sky.

Thank you, thank you,

thank God for you, the wind beneath my wings.

I am trying to avoid songs with angels & Jesus in it because of the diverse group of people, from many religions, the slide show will feature. It has to be a song that could represent everyone, both in the slide show & watching, which makes it much harder.

All the songs suggested are wonderful songs though & many of them are favorites of mine.

Debi- I absolutely love "Wind Beneath My Wings" and have thought about using it. The song length worries me though.

When doing a Flash slide show to music, song length becomes very important. You have to show the frames long enough to see the picture but fast enough to get them all in. You also have to time the pictures with the music flow.

I REALLY do appreciate the suggestions though. You guys are very inspiring!

Big Hugs,

Lisa
