Guest pinkdiamond
Thanks everyone for all of the information. My mom had her first Oncology appointment last Wednesday, Jan 11. DX with Poorly Differential Adenocarcinoma, stage 111B in left lung and bronchial tube. No mets, thank god! She will start Carbo Platin Taxotere on Thursday, Jan 19 for 4 hours every 3 weeks for 3 months. She already has alot of pain in her legs, can barely get up and lot of water retention. Dr. says chemo will help reduce the pain and retention. Has anyone ever heard of this? Pink
Ry
Your mom's diagnosis is the same as my husband. I think with the taxotere they give steroids which will help with the water retention. Good luck, glad you have a diagnosis.

marym
Ask the doctor for a diuretic. That will alleviate the swelling and some of the pain. I had problems with fluid retention - gaining 20 lbs in one week (and then losing it the next week). I also had leg pain but it was from chemo, or a pain drug. Withdrawal from steroid caused me the most pain. Mary
