Guest Narda99
I originally post in another thread, but it was suggested that I might want to look at this thread. Here is my post: I am a non-smoker with history of DCIS breast cancer nearly 10 years ago. My yearly exams for breast cancer follow-up have always been good, even the chest x-rays. Pneumonia last year and again this year. X-ray stated, along with the pneumonia, there was a "suspicious area of nodularity in the right suprahilar region. CT of the chest would be suggested to rule out mass." I had the CT done last week and am awaiting results. I am extremely worried, especially with the history of breast cancer even though it was classified as non-invasive, Stage 0. Is nodularity in the chest always lung cancer, or could the pnemonia cause it?
Kasey
Look up at the top of all the threads in this General section. You will see 2 different threads about nodules....each marked with a STICKY. Check there to see what has been said about nodules. Kasey
Connie B
NO not all nodules are Lung Cancer. Nodules are very common in people that have had pnemonia. These can be scar tissue. Nodules can be infection, fungus, scar tissue, and yes cancer, however if the nodules are mm in size, they are too small to biopsey, so they watch them via CT scan for a period of time. bunny
try not to worry. I even had one that they identified as calcified (I guess the non-calcified ones get watched more closely?), and likely caused by bronchitis last year. let us know how it goes, and try not to make yourself crazy worrying. xoxo bunny
