Ann Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 You read in your local newspaper that a new ordinance is under consideration. You are highly opposed to this new ordinance. Do you get involved and voice your opinion or sit quietly and allow it to become law? Quote
Ry Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 I'm there voicing my opinion. I have been to so many township and city meetings in this area they hate to see me coming. Before John's diagnosis I was the secretary for our lake association and had to go to lots of meetings concerning things that would impact our lake. Quote
dchurchi Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 I would like to think I would get involved. I have become very involved at the hospital Alan has been treated at, sitting on a couple of committees. So at this time in my life I might be more inclined to get involved in other issues. Quote
Ann Posted February 3, 2006 Author Posted February 3, 2006 I would be right there...jumping in with both feet! My middle son is mentally challenged. Years ago, I learned that I had to "fight" the system to always see that his educational needs were met. I learned that one person CAN make a difference. So glad to see we have so many strong voices among us!!! Quote
Geri Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 My daughter coined the expression "Mom's latest crusade" years ago. Geri Quote
J.C. Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 I'm always involved in something. Kind of like fighting. Jackie Quote
ginnyde Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 I would jump in with both feet and unfortunately would sometimes then put both feet in my mouth. I do not suffer fools easily and too often it is these fools that can affect the quality of our lives. Quote
lilyjohn Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 get envolved unless you are fighting a fight that can do more harm than good. Quote
stand4hope Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 If it was something that I thought was really major, I would probably write a letter. I don't do well confronting people, so to be honest, if I didn't write a letter, I would probably stay out of it and then complain about it later. Peggy Quote
