Donna G Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 So sad. I just heard about it on the morning news. Their son is only 13 and now he has lost bothe parents. Donna G Quote
Lauriannessister Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 I heard at work and have been hiding in my cubicle and crying since I heard. I really thought she would pull through. Quote
Hebbie Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 I too cried this morning. The "breaking news" came as I was eating breakfast. I must admit, I didn't see this one coming.... Sadly, her passing has led to another flurry of media attention towards our cause -- the Health Reporter for Philadelphia's Channel 3 just left my house -- they were frantically trying to get ahold of me all morning so they could interview me for my reaction to her death and give an update on my personal situation. It's so morbid...but also neccesary if we ever want to bring change. My thoughts and prayers are with her son Will in these coming days. What a tragedy. Quote
SSF Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 I just heard the news and I, along with all of you, am sitting here with tears running down my face. It's just not right! And for Will to lose both parents at such a young age. My prayers are with him and his family...... Quote
RandyW Posted March 7, 2006 Posted March 7, 2006 This is a tragedy to the Lung Cancer community and more so for Danas son. I can not believe this has happened. thought she was doing so well with treatments. Prayers for Wil at this very difficult time in life. Quote

fipster Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Does anyone know what type of lc Dana Reeve had? small cell or non-small cell?MarkVR I've been looking for the answer to this question all day. God bless their little son. Quote
Hebbie Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 As a non-smoker, I can only guess that she had Non-small cell -- I don't believe that non-smokers get small cell? Quote
fipster Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 Mom said she watched a special on it tonight and it was SCLC. I just figured it had to be as aggressive as it was. As far as smoking goes... My mom was a smoker (not anymore!) and had/has adenocarinoma and her best friend was a smoker and has SCLC. Doesn't seem to be very discriminating. Quote
Lauriannessister Posted March 8, 2006 Posted March 8, 2006 My sister was a non-smoker with mucinous adenocarinoma (I am not sure if there is more than one type of adenocarinoma). From what I understand, lung cancer doesn't care, but one of my next steps in the battle is to find out more about the types. I saw there is a great section dedicated to this under info. Quote
