tnmynatt
My dad has had this disease for several years. He has been to National Jewish on several occasions to get his antibiotics and dosages right. His MAC is currently stable. Randy: Thanks for sharing.
blaze100
I found it interesting that MAC has the same symptoms as lc. Thanks Randy. Barb
karen335
Randy, What is the link. Don't find anything there or maybe I'm just tired. Please advise. Thanks, Karen
tnmynatt
Actually, the dr. thought my dad had lc and did surgery on him to biopsy and then were prepared to do a lobectomy. The biopsy showed TB. They were all shocked and they just closed him back up and started him on antibiotics. After it didn't clear up from the antibiotics, they determined it was MAC. He nearly died a couple years later from a major bleed. That's when he went to National Jewish and they adjusted his meds based on a sensitivity analysis of his specific disease characteristics. Just wish lc could be adequately tested to determine the drugs that will respond to each person's specific characteristics. But, as we know, the cancer adapts and changes, which is unlike bacterial infections like MAC. Didn't mean to get so long winded.
