RandyW Posted May 30, 2006 Share Posted May 30, 2006 Paul Gleason, actor in `The Breakfast Club' Paul Gleason, who played the go-to bad guy in "Trading Places" and the angry high school principal in "The Breakfast Club," died Saturday of mesothelioma, a rare form of lung cancer linked to asbestos. He was 67.Through his career, Gleason appeared in more than 60 movies that included "Die Hard," "Johnny Be Good," and "National Lampoon's Van Wilder." Most recently, Gleason made a handful of television appearances in hit shows such as "Friends" and "Seinfeld." -- Associated Press Anita Roberts, noted cancer researcher WASHINGTON -- Anita Roberts, a highly regarded cancer researcher whose work illuminated how cancer progresses and how wounds heal, died of gastric cancer May 26 at her home in Bethesda, Md. She was 66. Roberts, the 49th most-cited scientist in the world and the third most-cited female scientist, was chief of the Laboratory of Cell Regulation and Carcinogenesis at the National Cancer Institute.
