How long does it usually take your doctors to tell you the results of your scans? My Mom had them on Tuesday, but her next appt. isnt until Thursday the 15th. To me, that seems like quite a long time to wait. Maybre its because i am so anxious about it. Hopefully they will call sooner and let us know. I keep you posted.

Debs Reading was usually around a week later and before Drs. Apptmnt. The waiting is the hardest part of course Think positive and say a prayer every day of course.

I guess I'm really lucky now, I used to have to wait but not any more.

My appts are usually set up that I have the scan(s) and then blood work, xray and the dr gives me all the results about and hour and a half after my CT appt.

It really is a wonderful system that cuts out the extra week of worry, the pre scan anxiety is bad enough without more waiting.

Thank goodness for the electronic age.

I really think it depends where you are. We had our results in two days (if I remember correctly) from Mayo. However, if we had had it done here, it would have taken a long time, as we are fairly rural. Best of luck to you...I will pray!

We usually find out scan results at our next scheduled doctor appointment (usually a week; once was 4 days). I had no idea that scan results could be done as quick as Geri said......nothing wrong with calling the doctor's office and asking what the results were before your mom's appointment if their office doesn't call you.

Like Geri, I get mine right away. I can't figure why many must wait so long. The scans are read pretty much immediately and then they are entered into the computer system. At least that is the way I THINK it's done. That's how mine are done, at any rate. Waiting seems to be for the convenience of the medical personnel. My husband has been getting scans for nodules since last summer. We always ask for a copy for us. We just return later in the day or first thing next morning for the written report. Waiting is just another cruel irony of this horrid disease, don'tcha think?

I've been very, very lucky with results being given to me usually on the same day. My last result, last week - my Dr. was in Atlanta and I had the scan at 8:00 am, he called me at 3:30 with the results. Technology is his thing and he uses it to the best advantage for me. It is amazing to me that he can see my scan in NY on his computer in Atlanta. Wow.

I think it just depends on the facility and their state of technology. The routine at my clinic will be that I go for the scan and have my dr appt immediately following (3 hours between scan and dr--I guess that's immediate in hospital-time) My surgeon pulls up my films on the computer and reads them himself and I get my results from him. The radiologist report is 24 hours delayed, but my surgeon gives me his opinion right then and there.

This is new procedure--last week when I went there I had my chest x-ray as usual, and during the dr appt he said that their new protocol is CT scan and I should get one. Had the scan before I went home that day and then spent 2 days in agony worrying over the results. That was awful. I totally sympathize with folks who have to wait for days but I think it's all to do with the way the clinic they are going to is set up.

I am able to get Alan's written report for myself with in a day or 2. depends on the time of his scan. I just call the Imaging center and go pick up the written report.

I would call the Dr.s office as they probably have

results already. This is one of the hardest parts,

waiting for scan results. Prayers everything will

come out NED.
