Kay Bowen

Died July 8, 2006

Blacksburg, S.C. — Mrs. Kay Bowen, 65, of 134 Waterson Road, died Saturday, July 8, 2006, at Hospice at Wendover.

Mrs. Bowen was born in Cleveland County, daughter of the late Hood Watterson. She was a homemaker and active member of First Baptist Church in Grover, serving as a choir member and former Sunday school teacher.

She was also preceded in death by her nephew, Alan Watterson.

In addition to her husband, Jerry L. Bowen of Blacksburg, she is survived by her sons, Fred Bowen and wife Tina of Blacksburg and Michael Bowen and special friend Kristin Baehr of Gaffney, S.C.; her mother, Pauline Norman Watterson of Blacksburg; brothers, Bob Watterson and wife Ruth of Akron, Ohio, and Richard Watterson and wife Betty of Shelby; grandchildren, Nicholas and Jonathon Bowen; and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

Visitation: Tonight from 7 to 9 at Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mountain, and other times at the home of her mother, 146 Watterson Road, Blacksburg.

Funeral: 2 p.m. Tuesday at First Baptist Church, Grover

Interment: Grover Cemetery

Officiated by the Rev. John E. Barnhardt and Dr. Paul Sorrells
