Happy Dance CD--need help!

Tough day today...caught myself crying along with a sad song on the radio.

So I decided that I wanted to make a CD of happy, upbeat songs. I'm going to make a copy for Mom (maybe she can listen to it during chemo?) and one for me in the car for when I need it most.

So here's my question...what song would you Happy Dance to? Any genre of music, any time period. What song makes you smile, or just want to get up and dance?

For me, Jimmy Buffett's "Barefoot Children in the Rain" would be one. Any other ideas?

:) Kelly

Katrina and the Waves "Walking on Sunshine"

The Beatles "Ob-la-di, ob-la-da" (of course, ya have to sing along at the top of your voice, too)

Most songs from ZZ Top...

Gloria Estefan's rendition of "Turn the Beat Around"

"TubThumping" by Chumbawumba (again, sung at the top of the lungs, especially the sweet little voice singing "p*ssin' the night away")

I GET KNOCKED DOWN BUT I GET UP AGAIN, YOU'RE NEVER GONNA KEEP ME DOWN...

But, for sing along and smilin' big, Louis Armstrong's "What a Wonderful World"

I see trees of green, red roses too, I see them bloom, for me and you, and I think to myself 'what a wonderful world'.

Travis Tritt "T-R-O-U-B-L-E"

Dwight Yoakum "Fast Like You"

"Touch of Gray" Grateful Dead

"Suds in the Bucket" Sara Evans

"Sin Wagon" Dixie Chicks

Michael Jackson "Wanna be Startin' Somethin'"

Jack Johnson--the Curious George song was just on top 20 --so much fun to listen too (just makes you smile)

Frank Sinatra---Fly Me to the Moon (everyone knows the chorus)

Tower of Power---Attitude Dance--if you like funk

(makes me want to get up and dance)

also Tower of Power--Soul with a Capital "S"

Kiss (I think) Every Little Thing She does is Magic

Vanessa Carlton---Walk a Thousand Miles

Santana--Oye Como Va and Smooth

Big Band--In the Mood or Pennsylvania 6500

Austin Powers theme--- Soul Bossa Nova

I have many more if ya' want them.

Okay, this is a bit diverse but one of my favorite happy songs is "Three Little Birds" by Bob Marley, it always makes me smile. Both my kids (21 years apart so the song doesn't age) and everyone else, gets hooked on it- its infectious and simple to sing along with -

Lyrics:

Don't worry about a thing

cause every little thing is gonna be alright

don't worry about a thing

every little thing is gonna be alright

Rise up this morning

smiled with the rising sun

three little birds

pitch by my door step

singing sweet songs

of melodies pure and true

saying, this is my message to you:

don't worry about a thing...etc etc
