Guest stephnewyork32 Posted September 13, 2003 Share Posted September 13, 2003 Hi I am not sure where to psot this, but my mother, Judy B, has been on this site for months and is very invloved and cares about many of you dearly. We just foundout she has spinal cord compression caused by a mass in her spine. She is going to have major surgery this Tuesday. There are many serious risks, but we are trying to stay focused and positive for her. Please send your thoughts and prayere for Judy! Stephanie PS she says she is sorry she can't be online to help others right now. and also wants people with Squamas cell cancer to get their spines checked, bone scan, MRI, to make sure, It is very commom aparently. She has always been so supportive and caring to all the members on the board, we miss her and want her back very soon. You have such a strong fighting spirit I know you are going to do great. Here is the update, Mom, Judy B, is going into surgery tomorrow night at 6:30 pm, it is going to be a long one and they are going to call me the minute she is in recovery, I will post on Wed for sure, but please say a prayer for her, and she says thanks for all the nice posts, Cris my sister printed them and read them to her today, She feels bad she can't be online for a while, but I will try to be in her place for a bit, or maybe when I go to Tucson when she is out of the hospital I can help her send emails. Guest stephnewyork32 Posted September 17, 2003 Share Posted September 17, 2003 Hello all, this is stephanie one of Judy's daughters, I don't know why but I can't ever log in, so I have created another alias, but I used the same name, so it is me, anyhow if you want to email me directly please use stephnewyork32@aol.com Mom's surgery went well and she is in recovery. Cris called me at about 11 pm on the pacific coast with the news. The had to remove two vertebre and put in a plate. She is able to move her arms and legs at this time. This is very good news and she will have an MRI to make sure the got it all out with the surgery. All your thoughts and prayers made a big difference and I will do my best to keep you posted and do updates. It is late and I am going to try to sleep. Thank you again and bless you all. She still won't be online for a little while, but we will do what we can to be in touch with all of you as I know how important you all are to mom. stephnewyork34 Posted September 19, 2003 Share Posted September 19, 2003 Hello all, I just spoke to Cris and it looks like Mom is going home today, Friday, they did an MRI, but now that she has a plate in her spine it is hard to read the MRI, so we think they are going to do Chemo to be sure. I havent' spoken to Mom yet, and I think she is still groggy, but all in all she is doing well, as she is a fighter! That's what I have enjoyed most about her posts. Her comments in the chat room have most appreciated as well. (Her place in the chat room is reserved for whenever she has the strength to return.) Judy will be back in her do time, she will not rush things. She has two good daughters and a husband to keep her from overdoing things, so, obviously, she will not rush things. She is doing well, and as of today they will start chemo to make sure they got it all out, or to get the rest out. I think there was some concern over no margin? I am not sure what that means, but she now has a steal plate in her back, I am sure that will screw up an MRI, maybe I am in denial, but I like to think they got it all and she will be fine. She misses everyone and I will try to be her voice for a while and keep you all updated. Thanks for all the prayers and thoughts.
