Not sure I really need a pass, but I probably will be away from the computer quite a bit for the rest of the week. We are just about ready to head out to the hospital for Fred's surgery. We are told the earliest he'll be home is Thursday evening. So.........MUCH time will be at the hospital. Also a good friend is there as well. I figure between the two of them, I could qualify as an employee  .

Anyhow, just letitng y'all know. Even Teddy is gone. He is at 'camp' this week. Didn't want to worry about him being alone for such long periods of time. He LOVES his buddies there anyhow, so he was a happy camper when I dropped him off.

Thanks...........and all good wishes, thoughts, vibes, prayers, etc. are welcome.

YEA!!!!!! Fred is HOME! And Frank.....we have intense respect for you and your cath since you've had it since June  ! Fred feels pretty good, but isn't moving around too much or too fast. We are told surgery went well, but are awaiting path report. Now this is different............waiting on HIM. Tables sure are turned, and we are so LUCKY!

Well, it has been brought to my attention that I haven't updated quite right here......................blame it on chemo brain!!!!!

Fred's surgery went as expected on Tuesday and he is now home. Frank, we feel for ya, buddy, since Fred has his new best friend, the catheter. Hopefully his can come out in about a week and a half though. Can't imagine since June. He has not been able to really get into bed yet so is sleeping in the recliner. We are awaiting path report, but the surgeon felt good about it all. So......just a slow road to recovery, I guess.

And to all you RN's, LPN's, and aides.......God bless you. The surgeon was in first thing the day after surgery and NEVER checked the cath in spite of the fact that he got a report that Fred's 'output' was so small. He ordered MORE IV fluids. So Fred was double bagged. LPN Pat noticed AFTER the surgeon left that there was still too little ouput and SHE checked the cath. Well, the balloon that holds it in had broken and all the fluid was backing up in his bladder. He had to go back to the OR for a 45 minute procedure to redo it. Without Pat, who knows what would have happened!!! Geez!!!

Kase,I am sorry you and Fred have been in all that pain and discomfort. This pain and discomfort has to be one of the worst I have ever experienced.I really hope Fred gets feeling better every day.

As you notice I am here at 3:55 am in the morning. This as a slow process.

Hang in there Fred.Hoping for a good path report.

I am so happy Fred is home and on the mend. I'll continue the prayers for full recovery, and a speedy removal of "Mr. Cath". I had "Mrs. Cath" during each of my 5 C-sections, and while she was an unpleasant guest, I'm sure "MR. Cath" is FAR worse!!!

Healing HUGS to both of you!!! ((((Fred & Kasey))))

Yours in HOPE!!

Stacey
