tnmynatt
I think they changed the wording or took some out...will have to go back and check after the soccer game.
tnmynatt
Here is what they took out starting at the end of the paragraph: this year killing more Americans that breast, prostate, and colon cancer combined; and WHEREAS, former smokers and people who have never smoked comprise the majority of new cases of lung cancer each year; and WHEREAS, there is currently no standard screening for lung cancer, and funding for lung cancer medical research falls far short of that for other less fatal diseases; and Here is what they added: WHEREAS, smoking greatly increases the risk of lung cancer, and I'm very disappointed by these changes. But, at least we have some recognition of the need for awareness. It's a start...but a disappointment nonetheless.
Debi
Tina, I understand your disappointment but you know what? The accomplishment of having Tennessee proclaim November Lung Cancer Awareness Month is what is the most important! Congratulations!! Welthy
Tina, Congrats and thanks for the good work. Every little bit helps although I understand your disappointment in the word change. Seems like for every step forward, we take two back. Maybe we need to start leaping! Thanks again, Welthy
