This da*n disease

We lost my cousin Steve this morning. The last few days have been heartbreaking, watching this formerly strong man disintegrate into a shell of his former self. This person who took such good care of us when I was a kid after my dad died, couldn't take care of himself. God was indeed merciful to release Steve from his pain.

This has been crushing for my mom. She loved Steve dearly, no doubt. Watching him fade away from cancer has been rough. She decided not to make the trip down to see Steve in his final hours "one last time", but to remember Steve as he was, "fighting this da*n disease!"

Keep fighting, my friends.

Kelly
