Bev'sSister
Can anyone tell me what their experience has been with Neupogen? Why is this being used and the Neulesta being discontinued? Does it have anything to do with my sister adding Radiation now?
Welthy
Bobby, If your sister is receiving frequent treatment (weekly) rather then every 21 or 28 days they may give Neupogen. Tony gets his new chemo once a week and they are able to tweak his WBC with the neupogen rather than give him a wholesale blast of Neulasta that might raise his levels too high. He received two shots this week. I wondered about the whole neupogen thing too, but that is how it was explained to me by the nurses at the office. As for the radiation, Tony still received Neulasta, as needed, during radiation. Also, a little profile at the end of your posts would be great. We would know more info/details to be more helpful in our answers. Just go to profile at the top of the screen and follow directions from there! Take care, Welthy
marym
Hi, I'vce had both. IIt depends on the timing of treatments and I believe the neupogen lets you dose daily, weekly or as needed. mary
