teresag Posted January 16, 2007 Share Posted January 16, 2007 I have to disagree with the Colgate toothpaste on burns and the Listerine on a broken blister remedies. Both of these "remedies" can be harmful. It is not wise to put anything (except antibiotic ointment) on a burn. Cover and keep it clean - and if it extends deeper than the underlying skin layers (i.e., full thickness), put nothing but a clean bandage on it and seek out your health care provider ASAP. Listerine, like most mouthwashes, contains alcohol, which would really hurt if used on the tender skin under a broken blister. Additionally, alcohol is a drying agent and drying impairs healing. ginnyde Posted January 16, 2007 Share Posted January 16, 2007 My feet get VERY DRY in the winter. VERY DRY. I have used many foot creams but none have done as good a job as good old Balmex. That's right, the stuff used for baby's bottoms works wonders on the feet bottoms. I put it on right after my shower. My feet are as soft as a baby's bottom.
