missyk
It was "An Evening With Metallica"...no opening band! LOL My sister and I got tickets when I was 16 (when Mom finally ok'd me going to a concert) and my brother, for whatever reason, didn't get tickets at the same time. He went to the window the night of the show and ended up with better seats than WE had!!
DianeR
The first concert for me was Diana Ross and the Supremes. I still have the album with their autograph that I got that night! Diane

Maryanne
I saw the Supremes. But the first actual rock band I saw was still one of my favorites, and that was the Moody Blues... love Knights in White Satin... Maryanne
Mr Ry
sharonjo mentioned Grand Funk Railroad. Ry also mentioned seeing groups at the ski area. One of the bands I used to see there was Terry Knight and the Pack. Later known as Grand Funk Railroad.
Debi
Jeesh John, you are old - you saw Grand Funk Railroad before they were Grand Funk Railroad. Sharon jogged my memory too- that was my first album and I was so proud of it, I cranked the volume on the record player as loud as it could go everytime my mom left the house... My first 'concert' was Bobby Sherman at Westbury Music Fair and my best friend and I fought the whole time who he made eye contact with - First REAL concert was at the Garden- Rod Stewart and Faces- he kissed his bass player on the lips and it was just so totally outrageous at the time..
