Donna G Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 We here in Minnesota are getting a little snow! - a foot or so. My husband who is away on business sent me a 2 page email on how to start the snow blower. ( that is his job) I got it going and got the worst of the snow off the driveway and sidewalk, and back porch. They already plowed the street so ---who knows I may still be able to go to church today! Donna G Quote
kamataca Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 As a former Minnesotan, I know what a huge deal that is! Fortunately my brother lived in town, and he and my DH were never both gone during a snow. Nice work! Kelly Quote
Kasey Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 I am just SO very proud of you, Donna!!!! Way to go! Snow/sleet/ice/ was predicted for early this AM and I was wondering about making it to church. Well, it's 10:30 and not a flake..................so 11:00 service......here we come! Love, Kasey PS: All of us here do know how big a deal this really is!!! Quote

Snowflake Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Two words: Electric start We were forecast almost a foot - right now, it's windy and sleeting. Sure am looking forward to spring and "Mud Season"... Quote
Wendy Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Congrat's Donna! As a fellow Minnesotan, I am loving the beauty of the day. It has been such a long ugly winter this year, the new snow is absolutely picture perfect. Wendy Quote
Don Wood Posted February 25, 2007 Posted February 25, 2007 Good for you, Donna. New horizons perhaps? Quote

Donna G Posted February 25, 2007 Author Posted February 25, 2007 I was just thinking. IT WAS 9 YEARS AGO THIS MONTH THAT I WAS RECOVERING FROM A THORACOTOMY ! Looking forward to another round of chemo! Now look at me! Running a snow blower and doing all the clean up shoveling all by myself! Donna G Quote

J.C. Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Donna, You are right to be proud. Read ''Diary of a snow shoveler'' in the ''Just for fun'' section, you could send a copy to your husband. Jackie Quote
wendyr Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 That is wonderful. It shows the inner strength and the will to get the job done which I'm sure has served you so well through your battle with this disease. Have you considered moving to Florida? No snow here. Continued successes. Good Luck & God Bless wendy ps. what's a snowblower? (just kidding) Quote
blaze100 Posted February 26, 2007 Posted February 26, 2007 Go Donna Go. Go Donna Go. As I recall there used to be a nasty joke in Wisconsin about snow blowers when I was growing up. Do you remember? It started with "Why did the snow man smile?" Barb Quote
Connie B Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Way to Go Donna!!! Get-er started up again, because that OTHER storm is heading right at us starting tonight, as you well know! Another 15 to 20 inches. I agree with Wendy, that this has been a long dull winter, being we didn't have any snow until last weekend! It does look beautiful. But, I have to say, I don't want to see us try and catch up to New Yorks 80 some inches. We've come a LONG WAYS over the years my friend, and we're going even further. DONNA ROCKS!!!!!! Quote
Ann Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 Good for you, Donna. I have to admit that I would have no idea how to start (or use) a snow blower. I do know how to start a leaf blower....lol! Tell you what. If we ever have a snow storm here in central Florida, I'll learn how to use a snow blower. Quote
dchurchi Posted February 28, 2007 Posted February 28, 2007 You go girl Not sure what a snow blower looks like I am still trying to figure out how to use, oh what is it called, oh yeah, an umbrella (it rained almost 2 days in a row here). All kidding aside, Donna, you are a true hero to many on this board. Quote
Donna G Posted March 1, 2007 Author Posted March 1, 2007 It is happening again! More snow! We may get up to 18 more inches. We got a couple during the night and it was really, really heavy and wet stuff. It is still snowing. My hubby was suppose to fly home tomorrow, boy I hope his plane gets here! Donna G Quote
melindasue37 Posted March 1, 2007 Posted March 1, 2007 Yeesh, 18 more inches. It sounds like you may need to go borrow a snow plow if you get that much snow. Hoping your husband gets home so you can enjoy all the snow together! Quote
Maryanne Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Good going... your hubby should really be impressed!! But make sure when he is home that is's his job Maryanne Quote
Connie B Posted March 2, 2007 Posted March 2, 2007 Forest Lake Minnesota got 21 inches of snow in the last 19 hours. Maurie went out and measured it. WOW! It's been a long time since we have had this much snow in one setting. It sure is pretty though!!! Quote
Donna G Posted March 2, 2007 Author Posted March 2, 2007 HE'S HOME! Any more snow is his job now! I am working this weekend and he is not. Donna G Quote
