brsarah Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 My mom always said the song "Sara" by Fleetwood Mac reminded her of me. Whenever I heard the song I would be instantly drawn back to childhood, on my tire swing in my backyard with my mom planting marigolds in her rock garden, Fleetwood Mac playing on the turn table from the living room window. The other day I heard the song, barely, through poor reception, on my car radio, 25 years later, I feel so old. The part that gets me the most is the line "When you build your house...I'll come by". I just moved into a new house when she became sick, She never did get to see it...I'm still waiting. Sarah Quote
RandyW Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 she can see it and is always watching over you and keeping you safe. Trust Me Quote
Maryanne Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 Oh Sarah, she will see your house, you may even feel some kind of her presence there. You are lucky you have those wonderful childhood memories. I know they are bittersweet. I know what you mean about feeling old. Where does the time go? Take care, Maryanne Quote
shineladysue Posted March 17, 2007 Posted March 17, 2007 (((Sarah))), my heart goes out to you. Love, Sue Quote
Nick C Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Sarah, I know the frustration of wanting your mom to see something. I know life would be so different. But my mother promised me she'd see things that I wanted her to see. Yours does and will continue to. Quote
P.S. I Love You Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 It's a very special song to Bev (and me), too, as our first-born is Sara, the poet of our heart. Quote
