natalie
...and he actually wrote back! He wrote a very nice, compassionate letter and he wrote that the President has requested $27.3 billion for the NIH this year - if the House and Senate appropriators grant that request, Congress will have reached their goal of doubling the NIH budget. He has actively supported many other Congressional initiatives regarding cancer research. I asked him to visit our website and to please consider dedicating some lobbying efforts towards lung cancer research specifically. Next, I've got to work on writing to our new governor Arnold. ha! Fay A.
I plan to write to "The Governator", too, but I have serious reservations on how much I think we can expect from him. But, it won't hurt to try... Fay A.
Fay A.
PS... Maybe I've spoken out of turn. I just remembered that Governor Elect Arnie's wife's cousin (Kara Kennedy, age 42) was diagnosed with lung cancer not too long ago. So maybe he will be interested in helping. Fay A. Donna G
On TV they were talking that Arnolds wife would not be the typical governors wife. Then they were predicting she would go for the typical Kennedy cause, mentally chalenged - Special Olympics. Wouldn't shock all if she championed lung cancer!!!. You go girl!!!!.
