What excuse would you give to get out of going to a party given by someone you didn't really like?

Have to babysit a grandchild. Using that excuse tonight to get out of a moment of temporary insanity.

If I am lucky enough that it is soccer season I say that one of the girls has a game or something.

Like Ginny, I can now use the babysitting excuse. By the way, it works like a charm.

Why is it always so simple for men???? Like Larry, Fred just says 'no' and moves on. I struggle every time. I have used the babysiting thing........and just saying I already have a previous engagement. Since everyone knows we have such wonderful neighbors, that is probably my favorite......having dinner with the neighbors.

Aren't we all awful for doing this?
