rvillella Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Had my MRI on Thursday. It came back the way my wife and I thought with an added little twist. The original tumor on the brain has grown significantly in the past 2 months and there seems to be another one in the upper portion of the brain. Course of action is going to be Whole Brain Radiation as they feel that if they don't do that then the stuff will continue in the brain and I'll have to undergo more radiation. Not something they want to pursue. I'll find out about the lung nodule on the 30th of this month. So hopefully that one is dormant and I can concentrate on the WBR. Seems like my yearly bout with this pain in the a** is a little early this year. I'll try to keep you all up to date from the hospital since they are not going to let me drive once I start radiation. Oh well don't much like the drivers in the area anyway. Keep me in your thoughts as I do all of you. Ralph Quote
mary colleen Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Ralph, You will be doing WBR at about the same time as my husband, Vic. He is also unable to drive right now due to vision damage from his brain met. I will watch for your posts regarding the treatment, and will share with you anything helpful that we learn. We're right behind you! Wishing you the very easiest course, and the best possible outcome. Mary Colleen Quote
mamasbabygirl Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Oh jeez, Ralph. I hope the WBR will zap these things into oblivion forever-enough! Keep your fighting spirit and I will pray for succesful results. Quote
trish2418 Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 I'm sorry for this latest setback, Ralph. I'll be saying lots of prayers that the WBR does the trick with those brain mets. Take care of yourself and hang in there. Trish Quote
Don M Posted May 19, 2007 Posted May 19, 2007 Good luck Ralph. If they are popping so close together in time, maybe wbr is the way to go. I suppose there could be others lurking. Sometimes it is hard to tell which is better wbr or gamma knife. Don M Quote
Connie B Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Im sorry Ralph to hear about this bump in the road. BUMMER! I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed that your nodule is just hanging out and nothing more then a nodule. ZAP those brain tumors GOOD BYE! Keeping you in my thoughts and prayers and sending you positive vibes and good wishes. Quote
carolhg Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Ralph, I am so sorry to read about this latest round that you have had to go through. I pray that the WBR takes care of the brain tumors and that you can move on with your life. Prayers Carol Quote
Welthy Posted May 20, 2007 Posted May 20, 2007 Ralph, Ralph, Ralph... what are we going to do with this stuff? Sorry to hear about the latest round this year, but sounds like things are in place to nuke the beasties. Good luck with the rads and keeping fingers crossed for good lung reports. I wish we all could stop this merry-go-round!! Warm regards, Welthy Quote
