Flowergirlie
Today would be his 42nd birthday. It is such a shame that he be taken so young and so quickly and we are all here missing him. It is yet another reminder of how nothing will ever be the same again. Our birthdays were super celebrations and nothing we took lightly. I feel so empty without him here. We have had two birthdays in the house since he passed already and then my birthday will come and go soon too and it will not even be worth celebrating. We always loved slaving over a yummy dinner and homemade cake while the other lazily watched the process, spoiled as should be. I can't figure out why life has to be so hard all the time! My heart just feels so tragically and irreparably broken. The boys and I are going to have a cake in his honor anyway. Maybe that will help soften the sorrow and grief some. EastCoastLadi
(((Melinda)))) you know I'm here for you. just last month the girls and I had a "little party" for Carltons' birthday, with all his favorites. I too still ask why? but I have to accept that that question will probably never get answered. Grace

hockeyma
Hey Melinda, It is really really hard - I know - Ger's birthday was a couple of weeks after he died - Good Friday - now what is so good about that. Hang in there and stay tough. It is really hard but you are a strong person. Hope your kids are doing well, take care and keep in touch. pammie
Family traditions are a great way to hold on to tender memories. May God bless you and the boys with peace. pammie
kamataca
I think it is great that you guys marked the occasion. As hard as that is, I think trying to ignore it is harder. Tomorrow is Mom's birthday. As kids we always did a movie and dinner out, so the kids, my brother, DH and I are going to a movie in her honor. I don't know if I'm brave enough to do a cake. Your instincts are good ones. Your kids are lucky to have you there, helping them through this time. Lots of love, rainbows, and prayers going out to you. Kelly
