raneyf
Finally had a thin-cut MRI on Monday in preparation for my SRS scheduled tomorrow. Saw doctor today and of course there are 11 tiny brain mets that showed up. So, now the plan is 3 weeks of WBR, then two week break, then start trial of docetaxel and obatoclax mesylate. I'm ready for the fun part of the roller-coaster any time now.
Welthy
(((Raney))), Oh sweetie, this shouldn't be happening, it's just wrong. Damn mets!! Many prayers for good success with both plans. This coaster stinks, let's build a new one. Welthy
wendyr
(((Raney))) I just hate to hear this news but with your fighting spirit those little buggers will be zapped in no time. Good Luck & God Bless wendyr
Andrea
I hate to hear this. I hope treatment will zap the blips away.
palves
Raney - sorry to hear that you have to go through SRS now. I sure hope the ride up the rollercoaster starts soon for you too. Just know my thoughts are with you through this. Paula
Kasey
Well, (((Raney))).......I'm ready for the fun part of this ride too . Hang onto the knowledge that many have had brain mets treated and have gone on with no problems OR recurrences. That's my hope for you, hon. Let us prop you up and keep you as positive as possible. You're in my prayers each day.......hope they help. Kasey
Shelley (MLC)
Sorry Raney....I wish you had heard better news. I'm praying for great results with the WBR and the chemo that follows. Shelley
spicysashimi
What? WBR isn't fun? Won't you glow in the dark? Fun for the boys at least. Seriously, Raney, you need a break. Just remember that brain metastases are very treatable. Julia and I are sending positive thoughts. Get zapping. Glad you got in to a clinical trial, by the way. aaron
wondermom
Hi Raney, I am so sorry to hear this. This has to be so frustrating. My mom had brain mets that were completely taken care of by WBR and they were at least 2 cm in size. Keep the faith. I bet the WBR will take care of yours too. Praying for you and your family. Take care.
Adrian
very similar with my dad: went in for SRS, came out having to do WBR. It's like: hello, quit kicking me when I'm down already. bright side is that initial indications are that the WBR worked well. I too would not mind one bit if management decided to tear down the rollercoaster; ride is getting old. Please remain strong.
gail
I hear you loud and clear! Not one bit fun for sure. Kick the crap out of them gail
Leslie
Raney-- Like Adrian said, the WBR seems to be working for my dad. We are keeping our fingers crossed for you. And I totally agree. I hate this ride. Sending you strength, Leslie

shineladysue
Raney, Hang in there. It sounds a bit overwhelming now, but one day at a time you will get through the treatment . You have my prayers towards success. God Bless, Sue

recce101
Hi, Raney: This brain mets thing SOUNDS troublesome, but it seems to be more reliably treatable than lung tumors and lymph nodes, and you've done very well in those arenas. So, I'd think of it as a short off-road detour rather than as a setback. Maybe our neighborhood kahuna can work up a special chant to get you in the right mood for WBR... Aloha, Ned
Don M
Raney I hope the WBR takes care of the mets for good. Don M
