I guess I should post this under "Grieving," but hope you'll forgive me putting it here instead. I just think it's what Dave would've wanted. Some of you remember my "little" brother DavidC, who passed away in June 2005. Today would've been his 43rd birthday, and I just can hear him telling me not to put this in grieving, because he'd rather people celebrate his life and would hate to think of causing anyone grief!

So... Today I wore my loud Hawaian shirt in his honor, along with a necklace he gave me and an "I love Faith" wristband from his and Karen's daughter's birthday party, and I took an extra picture of his smiling face to work with me. I'm celebrating the life of a great guy.

David made a lot of great friends here and gave and GOT tons of support from you all. If some of you want to celebrate with me, please join me at the pub, where I just hoisted a Sam Adams in his honor.

Thanks, y'all,

BeckyCW

I remember him well. I know he is looking down and happy that you wore the shirt! It is good to remember the happy memories too and celebrate his life.

Happy Birthday, Dave!!!

Becky, I think it's absolutely wonderful what you're doing to honor your wonderful brother today! What a wonderful man he was and what a lucky gal you are to have shared so much of your life with him. I know that Dave will be really happy and smiling big to know you're celebrating his birthday and his life today! I will definitely think of Dave often today and remember how he helped me and how much he meant to this MB.

It's so funny, I was just thinking of him. I was reading another member's blog last night and a lot of it was about music and musicians and I thought boy he and David would have a lot in common. It's Tuesday morning so I will raise my coffee in a toast to a great guy. It's good to see you on Becky.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DAVE!!!!

I remember a tree was planted in his honor. I am sure it must be thriving.

How is Karen & Faith doing? Faith must be getting so big!

We have a new PUB owner now, its Kasey and Fred's PUB, So we will have drink in Dave's honor.

Take care, it was great to hear from you. I hope all is well with you.

Becky, of course, I remember David. Remember when he shaved his head for St. Baldricks Day. I missed the toast last night, but will remember him tonight.

How are Karen and Faith doing?

Becky,

The world lost something special when David left it, but you already know that.

Although its late, I will have some milk and cookies in his honor.

I hope you are doing well Becky, we miss you too.

Thanks, everyone, for celebrating David with me! I've missed you all, too, but for weeks at a time (months?) have just not been able to get myself here... My absence truly does not mean I care about any of you less, though! I'm so sad to read some of the updates I've seen -- and then there's that great picture of Andrea and a BABY!!!!!! (and just as special, her MOM holding a BABY!!!) WOO HOOOOOO, Andrea, CONGRATULATIONS! And Katie, you look VUNderful! :)

Karen and Faith are doing okay, after both have been sick off and on recently. They've found Faith has a hearing problem, so she got tubes in her ears last Friday and Karen is home with her this week. I saw them in late June, and Faith is growing SO fast and is so smart and fun and full of joy. She will be 6 in September, which is hard to believe!

You're all so nice to welcome me back after such a long time gone. I pray for each and every one of you, just as David always did, and it was so great to read your kind words and see your faces again!
