Gratitude - August 23rd 2007

I'm grateful that some old fashioned

Pa's and Ma's stores are still open,

my friend Pauline took me in this

part of the town that I never saw

before, now owner of a new bedroom set

a dining room set at prices that I did

not know still existed and with the

kind of service that makes you regret

the old way of living.

I am grateful that I slept through the WHOLE night last night for the first time in a LONG time!!! I forgot what it was like.

I am grateful that I have old friends, not just in age, but in length of service (LOL).

I'm thankful that God allows us the ability somehow see the sun shining through in our lives, even when dark clouds seem to be rolling in.

I'm grateful for all of the love I have known in my life. That I have been able to love so deeply.

I'm thankful that we go a bit of much needed rain yesterday, and a 50% chance of a little more today. With all the horrible flooding in the midwest, I wish we could borrow some of that rain here.

I'm grateful for Becky's news, and for Becky.

And I'm grateful for the sound of two children sleeping. At once.

I am very thankful for my mom's clean scans - again!! (A little over two years now!) I am also thankful to see daughter #3 off to college today - even though I cried the whole three hour trip home - five years ago this month I wondered if I would see the first three graduate high school!! Now I have three in college. OH yeah, and my new job - with medical benefits which we DESPARATELY need!! P.S. Sure am thankful my little Anna is still home!!

I'm grateful for my friend Meg, who left me home-cooked dinner in my frig for when I got home today. I'm also grateful that she comes to check on my Mrs. Dickens during the day when I'm at work.
