KatieB
If I had wristbands (white) made with LCSC and our website on it- would anyone be interested in purchasing them? All proceeds after the production costs would go to LUNGevity. ***I paid to have one made for myself a long time ago and people have been asking me about it. I like these better than the clear breathDEEP ones because they really stand out. ***Also, for those of you who wondered about the breathDEEP link on this website, we discontinued using them for several customer service and affiliate reasons. Kasey
Could you post a pic of it, Katie?
KatieB
Here is a rough scan of my wrist. LCSC is on one side and the website is around the other. I wanted something like LUNG CANCER AWARENESS and then our website address, but it all wouldn't fit. I can do LUNG CANCER and then www.lchelp.org if the majority think that it is better- but people are always asking me what "LCSC" is and I get the chance to TALK and talk and talk....hehe... Take a look guys and let me know your feedback. I've been saving to get these ordered and all proceeds I am going to add to my WALK amount this November to go directly to LUNGevity Foundation. ***PS- the wristbands would be ordered in "regular" size. What I am wearing is the youth size. I could possibly order some youth sizes too if there were enough orders to offset the production costs. Kasey
I like it, Katie. Is it white? I guess that's close enough, huh? I also like the way you have it. I bet you'd get orders. I'd order. We still have about 8 of the clear 'breathe deep' ones left here. Thanks and good luck with the LiveStrong contingency in Iowa. I know you'll make a difference. tnmynatt
I will order them. We plan to walk for the local cancer center again this year with our wristbands, t-shirts and anything else about LC we can get our hands on.
DanaBrooke
I will order a few for sure! I like LUNG CANCER and then www.lchelp.org. How much? Also I would need the youth size for sure!! Let me know when I can place a order for a bunch!!

KatieB
Thanks guys, I am leaving out of town tomorrow but I will get the pricing and order info set up when i get back!! I also like LUNG CANCER www.lchelp.org as well. I think that will be more condusive to people who may be doing their own events or fundraisers for other orgs. I'll keep you posted!! KatieB
P.S. and just something weird I found out this week...people are using purple for lung cancer and I found a site stating that ORANGE was the color for lung cancer and they were selling orange wristbands and orange crystal bracelets........how bizarre. For the past almost 5 years, I've always known it to be clear/pearl/white-----and silver ribbon charms stood for any cancer.
lc46
Count me in. I'll take a bunch and give them out. Dar
Kasey
At our local Relay for Life they were handing out small ribbons of whatever color for your type cancer to hang on a big piece of netting. First I took white until I saw some filmy (almost clear) ribon with a purple edge. I went back to the table and asked......they told me lung cancer was the filmy ribbon ~ the white was for bone cancer. So I traded my white in. Interesting. DanaBrooke
I would want a clear one if that's the case- anyway we can do this in a clear?
KatieB
Sorry, no- I can't get the pricing for it in clear. Plus, it simply looks ugly and gets dirty quickly- so I just won't do it. You can still get the clear ones from BreathDEEP.com but they say "breathDEEP" on them, not lung cancer. Most org. use Pearl and/or White for lung cancer because clear is so difficult to be seen or show up on awareness/promotional items (Unless it is outlined in silver or black). You can google it or even check chosehope.com - they've been around forever and my ribbons and breast pins from them have always been opaque-ish white in color. From the looks of things- sometimes it's what people "make up" to sell their products (like the purple and the orange colored items people are now claiming to be for LUNG cancer on Ebay and other online stores. Universally though, pearl/white/clear in one or all of those combinations have been the color for lung cancer.
Kasey
Sounds okay, Katie. Interesting all the colors, isn't it? I was not ever sure if the 'breathe deep' ones were for an organization or if it was just a phrase used. Guess since I've been wearing one, I should know that. White will be good. KatieB
I was not ever sure if the 'breathe deep' ones were for an organization or if it was just a phrase used. Kasey, it's both. In the beginning, this companys idea (and I think probably still is) was to market the phrase "breathDEEP" to become as popular as "liveSTRONG" and to have it directly associated with lung diseases. They approached me and other related orgs. for affiliate opportunities- then later tried to sell us their company! ... I don't know how successful they are at the present time, but we no longer affiliate with them for a few reasons. LUNGevity is beginning to produce their own LUNGevity "Every Second Counts" wristband (it is purple like their logo) and they give it out at events. It's a promotional item with their org. on it. I guess until ALL org. come together to form a united front, there will continue to be different wristbands and sayings. My "market" is online here at LCSC, in my community, and the myspace group and I think sticking with the universal color of opaque, pearl or white, and putting "LUNG CANCER" on it- I can sell more- Which means LUNGevity gets a bigger donation. It all evens out in the wash I guess..
Kasey
I'm all for LUNGevity getting BIG donations . I was curious about the phrase. Too bad the company didn't quite reach the goal of making that phrase as popular as Livestrong. I do like your design. I'm afraid my fundraising efforts will be falling quite a bit short of last year's. Not sure just what to do to make up some of the difference. You came up with a good idea! Ry
Katie- I ordered clear bands for the Boston Walk if you are interested in the site I used let me know. They say "Never, Never, Never give Up" on the outside and inside they say "Boston Lung Cancer Walk". Got an excellent price too. We will be giving them away to registrants at the walk and selling some extras as well. Rochelle

KatieB
ok guys. check this site out. They are "trying" it out before migrating to a "real" website to see if it will be a successful venture. We may put the cafepress items on there as well eventually if things go well. www.freewebs.com/cancercurewishes I put alot of my stuff on there to sell with all proceeds benefiting LUNGevity. I hope you guys like it!!
