Gratitude - August 31 2007

I read a lot at night and came across

the words of Ralph Waldo Emerson

so his words will be my way to say

I'm grateful

WE THANK THEE

For this new morning with its light,

For rest and shelter of the night,

For health and food, for love and friends,

For everything His goodness sends,

Father in Heaven, we thank Thee.

For flowers that bloom about our feet,

For tender grass, so fresh, so sweet,

For song of bird and hum of bee,

For all things fair we hear or see,

Father in Heaven, we thank Thee.

For blue of stream and blue of sky,

For pleasant shade of branches high,

For fragrant air and cooling breeze,

For beauty of the blooming trees,

Father in Heaven, we thank Thee.

It may take a while to see all that

but each day we should be thankful

to be alive and able to be grateful

for something.

When we need something we pray hard and long

but we should also say ''Thank you''

and being grateful is a way of saying

THANK YOU.

I'm grateful I can get up any time of the night (if I cannot sleep) and share inspirational stories of love and a fighting spirit and strength on this website.

This is gonna sound strange...

I'm thankful that college football season begins this weekend. My wonderful hubby works so hard yet rarely takes time for himself. He loves watching his Penn State Nittany Lions. (even from NC!)

I'm grateful that the 3-day weekend is almost here. I need that extra day!

I'm grateful that I am still here to see the sun rise/set and in between life is not bad at all-- nope not much to complain about at all.

I'm grateful for two nights of good sleep for Tony and less breathing problems yesterday and today. (I'm also grateful for the Cub's -- they are keeping Tony involved in something other than cancer.)

I'm thankful for my niece, Brenna, who always makes time for me no matter how busy she is, and always makes me feel so loved.

I'm also VERY thankful I have central air, because we're burning up out here!

I am thankful for a long weekend and having some time away from work.
