Marci
Hi All, Just posted DX up just wondering anyone w/same DX that can tell me what path they chose for treatment. Does anyone think this 6 weeks of chemo/radiation is the way to go for now? Marci

ChristineT
Hi Marci - Sounds similiar to my dad's diagnosis and he is having the same chemo. Once a week for 6 weeks and radiation 5 days a week for a total of 33 treatments. My dad just had his first chemo last week and starts radiation this week. Prayers to your mom. wendyr
Hi Marci: I believe the standard treatment now is for radiation with concurrent weekly chemo. The chemo is low dose but studies have shown that this protocol is more effective than radiation and then chemo. When radiation is over she will probably go to a stronger dose of chemo. Good Luck and God Bless wendyr
Andrea
My mom is IIIA. She had chemo to shrink tumor, then surgery, then radiation. One thing to be careful about is radiation before surgery, they usually like to do surgery first. Keep us posted!
ursol
Marci, I was originally diagnosed IIIA. I had same treatment, low dose weekly chemo for 6 weeks with concurrent radiation 33 treatments. then surgery, then stronger dose of chemo. Andrea is accurate that some surgeons do not like to operate after too much radiation. My surgeon actually told me he does these all the time after radiation and doesn't find it difficult.
