KleenTeeth
Diana emailed me yesterday to tell me she had her PET scan and there is still cancer in her right lung even after all the chemotherapy and radiation. She tells me this eliminates the surgery option for her. She had her lung tapped early this month and the fluid was cancer free. How much chemo do they usually give a patient? I am worried she will say "forget it, I am done", which is her personality. She sounded so down. I don't know what to say to her HELP! Don M
Some people choose cyberknife surgery after attaining stable late stage disease and if there is no longer any lymph node involvement. It is not considered a cure, but one could attain NED for a while. Talk to the radiation oncologists at the following link: http://www.cyberknifesupport.org/forum/ Don M
KleenTeeth
Don, I checked out the site a while ago. They said Diana isn't a candidate for that either The reason being she had cancer cells in her fluid when she was diagnosed; this indicated the pluera was involved. I just feel so bad for her! I am at such a loss!
