Nick C
I've got 4 Josee lilac bushes to get in the ground to celebrate. Found a spot for one, just have to find spots for the other three. A day in the garden and doing projects around the house. It's not dinner with Mom, but it's the best I can do...spend the day how she would spend it. I miss and love you, Mom. I wish we could have celebrated #57 together.

Kasey
I love lilacs too, Nick. I am sure mom is pleased with them and you spending time in the garden. I remember your posting about last year's celebration. Sometimes it's just plain hard to accept time marching on. Many hugs to you, Nick! sharyn
Nick, I am sure, in a way, she did celebrate with you, and was right there with you as you planted those lovely bushes. You are such a wonderful son. Sharon

fillise
What a great way to spend your mom's birthday! Now, in the spring, you will have a wonderful reminder of her. Susan
kamataca
I'm always struck by how young your mom was. This is a very cool way to honor her. I hid my head in the sand on Mom's b-day (one month after her death). Your way is so much better! Kelly

nyka69
Sorry Nick, I've been in such a daze lately that I missed this post. Happy birthday to your wonderful mom. I love that you planted lilacs. My hubby's favorite color was purple and he loved flowers. Whenever I see flowers in any shade of purple I've always thought of him. Now I'll think of you and your mom too. I hope your tribute to your mom helped ease your pain. Peace, Nanci

But I want you do know that is a beautiful tribute to you mom. And I know lilac bushes will flourish. The fragrance of them is encapsulating. I hope you are feeling better today. Mskim
((Nick)) I am glad you found a way to connect with her and memorialize her. I picture you 3 or so years from now hoing a little girl's hand, guiding her from lilac to lilac, smelling the blooms as you go.
