Barbb
I have been doing a lot of reading on this site this weekend and I see so many people whose loved ones talk to them about their cancer. Rod doesn't talk about the "cancer" but he talks about the pain. I want to know how he feels about everything, but he has never been one to share. He is the stoic type. I need to talk, does that mean I talk to him even is he doesn't want to or my friends or just my therapist? It's really hard to have all this stuff inside. tnmynatt
My husband didn't talk about his cancer either. I talked to everyone else--here on this site, a therapist and friends/family--to survive. It wasn't helpful to try to talk to him about things...he just didn't want to. Hope this helps. Take care. KatieB
My dad wasn't a talker either. It frustrated my mom to no end at first, but we reminded her that he wasn't a talker BEFORE cancer, why would he start now? Also, we took it at his pace. While we made sure he knew how we felt and we treasured ever moment with him, we never pushed him to talk about anything too serious. Tina is right- Talk to those around you for support, post here- get all the support you need so that you can walk this journey with him to beat this cancer!
