J.C. Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 Sunday and beautiful buy cold weather. Grateful today for people that are able to get a second opinion, specially people in the States. Where I live, Quebec, Canada we are very backword and you can't even change family doctor. So never can't get a second opinion from the medical field, but that doesn't stops me from having my own opinion of doctors and I always feel free to tell them to their faces what I think of their ways. No wonder I'm not a favorite patient in all the hospitals here but at least it keeps the doctors on their toes (they look ridiculous) when they see me. Have a good I will have one also. Jackie Quote
Nova Posted November 4, 2007 Posted November 4, 2007 I'm thankful that Proctor and Gamble has a medication assistance program. I was dx'd with Crohn's Disease in 2000. The medication I take for it, (an aspirin-based pill), costs nearly $300 a month. Our insurance was cancelled last month. Proctor and Gamble sent me 3 months worth of medication at no cost. It arrived in the mail on Friday. That's a miracle for me. Quote

RandyW Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 My 2 cents worth from treatment forum sticky list!!! The Partnership for Prescription Assistance brings together America’s pharmaceutical companies, doctors, other health care providers, patient advocacy organizations and community groups to help qualifying patients who lack prescription coverage get the medicines they need through the public or private program that’s right for them. Many will get them free or nearly free. Its mission is to increase awareness of patient assistance programs and boost enrollment of those who are eligible. Through this site, the Partnership for Prescription Assistance offers a single point of access to more than 475 public and private patient assistance programs, including more than 150 programs offered by pharmaceutical companies. To access the Partnership for Prescription Assistance by phone, you can call toll-free, 1-888-4PPA-NOW (1-888-477-2669). More about this program Finding Programs In order to find out what patient assistance programs you may qualify for, all you have to do is answer a few short eligibility questions. This site will help supply you with the information you need to get involved in a program and even allow you to download applications online. You can then follow the instructions on the application to apply. https://www.pparx.org/Intro.php Quote
Nova Posted November 5, 2007 Posted November 5, 2007 Thank you Randy. Knowing any and all information on these things helps. It at least gives you a place to "start". When I had insurance, I didn't give buying medication a second thought. My Oh My, The lessons I've learned lately... Quote
