Guest debbiebouchard
My Mom is having trouble starting her chemo schedule, she has tried twice (taxo/carbo and taxotere) and had allergic reactions both times. She is scheduled to start Alimpta next week. I've done some web research on Alimpta, but nothing beats first hand information. Has anyone been on this? What was the worst side effect for you? My Mom has been told she will probably not lose her hair on this treatment, which I think she is happy about. Thanks, Debbie
dadstimeon
Hi Debbie, I had Alimta and the only problem I had with it was fatigue-- it did make me very tired but had very good results with it. Hope this helps. Rich
raneyf
Did you ask about Abraxane? I was allergic to Taxol, but o.k. with this. I was o.k. with Taxotere too though. But maybe worth asking.
Don M
Debbie: My side effects from alimta were fatigue and some shortness of breath. I did not recover from the effects until about he day before the next infusion. One nice thing about it was that the infusion only took 20 minutes. Patti B
I have just had my 2nd round of Alimta. Only side effect is a little more tired than when on Avastin only but then Avastin was a cake-walk. I have heard some people become more SOB on Alimta but for me so far so good!! And my hair had just grown back in and I have not re-lost it so that is a big plus!! Wishing you lots of luck!! Patti B.
Guest debbiebouchard
Thanks for the personal info on Alimpta. I'll be sure to pass it along to my Mom. Thanks again, Debbie
