One of our moderators Christine had this information posted under the Lung Cancer News Forum:

PARIS, Sep. 4, 2007 -- Pharmaceutical company Sanofi-Aventis said seven trials of its Taxotere drug in treating non-small cell lung cancer showed a 'significant' improvement in overall survival rates versus existing treatments.

Taxotere, an anti-cancer agent used in other treatments, is the company's fourth best-selling drug.

Hi,

I had Taxotere during my treatment. The main two side effect I had were:

I was exhausted for a week after each round and my red blood cells went down. I did have a blood transfusion to increase my blood counts, and then took arasnesp shots every two weeks until my counts went up. As far as the exhaustion, I just learned to plan on watching tv for a week and let my body heal.

The only other thing I can remember from it was that for a few weeks my finger nails were very very sensitive.

I hope that Taxotere works good for your husband,

Wendy
