Married 14 years to my soul mate, Mike and have 2 wonderful daughters (Lacey 12, and Natalie 10). We have lost all of our parents to LC in a 5 year time period.

We are moving forward, living for our daughters and trying not to worry (too much) about genetics.

I come here often to see how my LC friends are doing and so sad to see so many new friends joining the club that no one wants to join. But if we need to, THIS is the best club to join for support!

My prayers, and my best to everyone dealing with this disease. God Bless.

I have been here since day one .

We had a prior forum before Rick and Katie started this great one.

I live on Long Island and work in Manhattan

Had my right lobe removed in 2000

I was lucky and was diagnosed at stage 1A and did not have chemo nor radiation.

However, my sister was diagnosed two and a half years ago and had some positive lymph nodes and had a wedge resection and went through chemo and radiation--so far all is good!

I’m Tom and I am coming up on my 2 year anniversary since diagnoses. This past summer, my little girl died from heat stroke. She was only 23 years old. Rina and I are trying to go on with our lives, but this struggle is so much harder than our battle with cancer. I pray every day that God will help me understand why there has to be so much pain in this world. I have not been very active on the site lately, I tried, but it is just hard for me to help others right now. Tracy’s death seems to overshadow everything in my world. I know it will take more time to come to terms with our loss and that the first Christmas without her will be particularly difficult. But, I believe in the power of prayer and I thank all of you for your support and concern.

I'm Jan from Southern Maryland, where I've lived most of my life.

I have been married to Rick for 14 years. I have two daughters, Erin (22) and Kara (13). I also have 2 cats, Echo and Princess.

I lost my cousin Kathi 4 years ago to SCLC. Then I was diagnosed with Stage 1A NSCLC a year a half later. I had surgery and have been cancer free for 2 1/2 years!

I have had many jobs over the years, most recently IT sales for a defense contractor. After 10 years, I quit out of frustration. After being unemployed (and loving it) for 3 months, I have decided to start my own company. "Infinite Errands" was started in November. It is a concierge and errand service. I have my first job in two weeks. I am excited about working for myself for a change.

I have had the pleasure of meeting and hanging out with Katie in Austin at a Lance Armstrong Summit Meeting. I am so grateful for her and Rick for starting this website. I have met many people, and a few that I am sure I will keep in touch with for the rest of my life.

Hi, I'm Sue,

I'm a 59 year old who has lived in Norfolk , Virginia , all my life. Married the guy next door ( literally around the corner) Michael (Mike) Shine in 1970 and shared a story book marriage until this horrible disease entered our lives in 2001 and finally took Mike away from me on March 2nd, 2006. I have two sons, Tommy, 35, who lives with his fiancee and Brian (nearly 27) who is currently living with me.

My family, all live in my city. My Mom (nearly 79yrs old) was diagnosed with lung cancer in May 2007, has had wedge section surgery and currently shows no signs of cancer.

I'm also going to have to try to find work, after not having worked in many many years.. Not sure what I will do. I'm kinda lost these days.

Did I get carried away?... I so much appreciate this forum. Thank you , Rick, Katie and all the members for being here.

I'm Leslie. I'm 32. I lost my dad 4 1/2 weeks ago (the day after my birthday).

I grew up in Los Angeles--but moved to Washington DC 1 1/2 years ago with my husband. We have been married for 1 1/2 years (we found out we were moving the day after we got home from our wedding.)

I currently work as an Associate Director for a PR firm that does crisis communications. The same week I started this job, my dad was diagnosed with LC.

I am Adrian's sister (who also posts on this board.)And I lucky to have my mom, Judy--who is 64. My parents were blissfully married for 45 years.

We miss my dad so much. And we are so grateful to have this community.

Hi All~

My name is Mary and my husbands name is Jerry ( kinda makes me want to break out in song!) We have 3 fabulous boys who are a constant source of pride and joy, Brad 25, Gerard 21, Daniel 18. All doing well at the game of life.

Jerry is a retired conductor from the LIRR after 32 yrs. He is a stage III prostate Ca. suvivor! Thank the Lord as I need him now.

I am a Registared Nurse here in West Islip, Long Island. I work in the same day surgery unit, but of recent, am "semi-retired". That is very frustrating.

I finished my Tx's for IIIB in Sept, so I just hang out waiting for my neuroapathy to pan out.

Our plan now,( all the boys are out of the house at this point) is to be the best darn house guests anywhere we are invited! All those "you really must come visits" over the years that we were to busy to entertain...Here we go!

Blessing to all on this site who bring me great info, and much hope. Mary oxxoxxxo

Hi, I'm Nancy, long-time member of this site.

We live in Southern California and my husband and I are self-employed in the micro-electronics industry.

Our 11 year old yellow lab, Mollie, is my constant buddy and stays by my side always.

I am a 8 year NSCLC survivor and am on my 3rd recurrence of SCLC. Will finish my 4th chemo cycle next week and then scans in January.

Our son is 26 years old and recently engaged. We are a drag racing family. My husband drove fuel altereds and I managed a race track, that's where we met.

Our son drives a Top Alcohol Funny Car and is the Division 7 (Western States) Champion and he finished #3 in the nation.

I am part of our crew and the racing keeps me going.

This site has helped me through so many things - thank you Katie and Rick.

God Bless us all.
