drea73
My dad had a lobe removed from his left side 2 weeks ago. Surgeon noticed that he had a few tiny masses that just touched the outside of his lymph node. Has anyone ever had cancer reach their lymph nodes and had a positive outcome in the end? Dr. says it hasn't reached his bones or anything yet. (bone scan) and a CAT scan didn't reveal any other cancer. I'd love to hear some personal experiences with this if anyone has gone through it. He's stage 2b.
Andrea
Lot of people had positive outcomes. My mom is IIIA and she is in remission 4 years now. They will probably do chemo if it reached the lymph nodes to kill any cells tht might be floating around They did that with my mom.
carolhg
Same thing here. I had two lymph nodes to light up on the scan. Had surgery and chemo after surgery. That was in July, 2005. Have had clear scans since. Was staged 3A. Carol

john
I think the general consensus these days for Stage IIb is to have chemo. You can ask the Dr about this. Good luck
Snowflake
Three positive lymph nodes - almost five years ago. Had radiation, no chemo. If I were going through it right now, I'd push for the chemo, just be "extra sure."
