Guest hearrean
Well, today I will be re-scanned at the radiation treatment center. Today will be my 23rd IMRT & the re-scanning is actually to let them see what adjustments need to be made on the radiation beam for the last (12) treatments. In doing so, however it will show them what the treatments have done so far as to shrinking the tumor + nodes. So even though this won't be a CT with contrast, as far as I know, it will show them what (if any) success we've had with the treatments as to the specific areas being treated. So I am praying there will be some positive results & will let everyone know when I find out which will probably be tomorrow. I could certainly use & appreciate everyone's prayers. Connie B
Ken, just keep in mind that radiation continues to work months after we have completed treatments. So, it may not show as MUCH as you would like in the shrinkage areas, but then again it may show MORE. But it does keep on working up to 6 months after treatments. SandraL
Prayers sent your way. I think it is great that they are checking mid radiation treatments for any possible adjustments. Because radiation is such a big ticket item in all of this. Stay strong!

Guest hearrean
Well the results from the Radiation Onc today were somewhat inconclusive. First of all, the CT scan they do is not with contrast. Basically he could not see any visible changes, but he also said that can be hard to determine when you are talking a tumor & node(s) as small as mine. I guess that's where the contrast helps. But the good news I guess is that nothing grew larger. Of course he said they rarely see that during radiation anyway. I have (12) more scheduled IMRT's & (2) weekly chemo treatments left before my full tests at MD Anderson. That will be on 3/12 and I'll get the results on 3/13. So I guess no news is good news.. recce101
Well, Ken, as we always tell each other, stable is good! Aloha, Ned
fillise
Stable is very good. Plus the radiation continues to work after you stope the treatments so, the real effect on the tunors is probably still to come! Susan
