wondermom Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 There are so many songs out there that move me. Sometimes to tears. They get me thinking about mom and how lucky I was to have her in my life. Anyone have a song that has touched them? I think music is somewhat theraputic for me. Here are mine: Natasha Bedingfield - Still Here Pink - Who Knew Fleetwood Mac - Landslide Live - Love Shines Rob Thomas - When The Heartache Ends Quote
Nick C Posted February 18, 2008 Posted February 18, 2008 Wind beneath my wings- mom and I danced to at my wedding. When Keri and I had gone to her house to do some cleaning out, we found the words printed out folded up in a little jewlery type box in the family room. Quote

Treebywater Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Mom loved Willie Nelson. I listen to him a lot when I miss her. Quote

kamataca Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 I like a lot of the same ones... "Live Like You Were Dying" Pink's "Who Knew?" "Without You" from the Rent Soundtrack "The Black Parade" My Chemical Romance Music affects me like nothing else. I start to well up at church when they play songs from Mom's funeral (that is how I will forever think of them now). "Hosea" gets me...my daughter told me that at the funeral I told her I thought it was my Dad singing to my Mom ..."Long have I waited for your coming home to me, and living deeply our new lives..." I can't make it through that song yet. Kelly Quote
blueeye Posted February 19, 2008 Posted February 19, 2008 Good post! I'm going to check some of these songs out. Here's mine as of now: "I'll be missing you" P.Diddy feat. Faith Evans "In the arms of the Anglels" Sarah McLachlan "Long December" Counting Crows Quote
Ann Posted February 21, 2008 Posted February 21, 2008 The Dance - by Garth Brooks To Where You Are - Josh Groban My absolute favorite is The Dance. To me, it means that even though I have been to hell and back dealing with Dennis' illness and death, I still had the good times (the dance). Quote
lilyjohn Posted February 22, 2008 Posted February 22, 2008 I too think of the dance but there are a couple of others. I believe by Diamond Rio Just one more day by Diamond Rio I've seen it all by Travis Trit One that is a really old one by Hank Williams that some of you may know some of the words are "if you go first and I remain there is one thing I'll have you do. Walk slowly down that long long path for soon I'll follow you. We've known so much of happiness, we had our cup of joy and memory is one gift of God that death can not destroy." There are more words but I think these say it all. Quote
Barbb Posted February 23, 2008 Posted February 23, 2008 I love "Here We Are" by Dallas Holme and "The Dance" by Garth Brooks. They say it all... Barb Quote

onlychild* Posted February 27, 2008 Posted February 27, 2008 "Deserter" by Matthew Dear "... You sound deserted... Lost and alone...Don't be afraid. This is what you have been saving for. Everything that you have done, nothing seems to be what it's worth..." I had never heard the song before. It came on the radio as I was driving home at 5am on the foggy summer night after seeing mom's last breath. Everything looked so different. Was very surreal. Note: The record label for this album is "Ghostly International". Quote
KC Posted February 28, 2008 Posted February 28, 2008 There are so many that I can't even think of right now, but one is Who Knew by Pink and the other the first time I saw him sing it live on an early morning show I swear I cried for an entire day, Don't Blink by Kenny Chesney. Take a look and a listen: http://youtube.com/watch?v=fXJxJoy0Dnc http://youtube.com/watch?v=Q2gn1Zos6xk Quote
