bugno92 Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 My mother was diagosed in sept 07 with Lung cancer with mets to brain. she had 15 WBR treatments and 6 rounds of chemo every 3 weeks. her last treatment about a month and half ago. She recently had a scan and it showed no change so the doctor is not going to do anymore treatments because he said it will only make her more sick. She is very weak now. Why wont they continue with treatment I have read where so many people have 3 and 4 differnt chemos. Should I get second opioion? Robyn Quote
recce101 Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 "bugno92" ...Should I get second opinion? I believe you should, Robyn. What works for one person doesn't always work for another, and vice versa. Also, some treatments have far fewer side effects than others. Aloha, Ned Quote
Muriel Posted March 28, 2008 Posted March 28, 2008 Absolutely! A second opinion is always good - esp. in this situation. Good luck Muriel Quote
SandraL Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Absolutely and without question...go for a 2nd opinion and a 3rd...keep fighting. My prayers are with you. Quote
Patti B Posted March 29, 2008 Posted March 29, 2008 Run, don't walk to get another opinion!!! Bless you for being your mom's advocate. My prayers are with you both. Hugs - Patti B. Quote
