About your town.....

Imagine we're coming to visit the town where you live for the very first time. List five things you would want us to know about your town and five things you would want us to see.

This is an easy one. It is just hard to stop at 5.

Things to know.

1. Redding is surrounded on three sides by mountains, most within a few minutes drive.

2 Redding is at the top of the Sacramento Valley.

3.It is one of the most beautiful places you will ever see, right now all the wild flowers are blooming.

4.Most of the year the weather is beautiful but once in a while we do get snow and it the summer it gets up to around 115 somedays.

5. Seldom rains in the summer.

I love it.

Thisgs you should see.

1. Whiskeytown lake just about 15 miles west of here

2. Shasta dam and lake just a few miles north of here.

3. The sundial bridge it is one of a kind.

4. The Sacramento River Trail that runs for miles and is very well used.

5. All of the many parks within the city.

Must add tonight is one of the things I moved to Redding for. Kool April Nights is an anual event with sometimes thousands of classic and antique cars. It has gone on all week but tonight is the cruise where the streets are blocked off and they cruise for 2 hours. Can't wait to see it.

This is funny because someone from LCSC is coming to visit me next week and will be seeing my city for the first time!

My town is listed as one of the top 100 places in America to live.

There's nothing to see here except houses, neighborhoods, parks and dog parks- Every once in a while you will see an older house with an acre or two (maybe even a horse or two) which is reminates of what happens when the burbs oivertake the rural folks. And lots of shopping centers.

We are smack in the middle of Dallas / Ft. Worth (a tad closer to Ft. Worth) so if you came to visit me I'd drive you 25-40 minutes into Dallas to eat, drink and be merry!

We'd go to Mayfest, Arbor Daze and Wine Tasting Festivals (all happening in April/May) and to Scarborough Rennasaince Faire, and just hang out with the Rickster and kiddos.
