As the traditional day of Thanksgiving approaches, I find myself looking at all the things I am thankful for this year.

I am thankful that my cancer was found early.

I am thankful that my Dr's. have a positive attitude and are aggressive.

I am thankful that I have a positive attitude and will not give in to the beast.

I am thankful that chemo and radiation treatments did not make me as sick as they could have.

I am thankful that I found this board and have learned so much from others.

I am thankful that the company I work for has been very accomodating to my having to go for treatment.

I am VERY thankful that I have wonderful insurance that is covering just about all my medical expenses.

I am thankful that no matter what the future holds, I have had the time to make things right with my family and friends.

I am thankful that I have had the opportunity to pass on some of my knowledge and experinces to others by way of speaking to groups and our local newspaper.

I am thankful for EACH and EVERY day the Lord has seen fit to give me.

I am thankful that at least 3 people have quit smoking beacuse of MY cancer.

But most of all, I am thankful that Jesus is holding a place for me in heaven when my time does come (which I hope isn't for 20 or 30 years!!!).

God Bless You all over the Thanksgiving Holiday and I am praying for you all.

May I add on?

I am thankful that there are days I can (almost) forget (finally!) my husband has lung cancer.

I am thankful that the doctors were wrong and my children still have their father.

I am thankful I have wonderful friends that have helped us through this, especially the ones I have made here. I am especially thankful to have "met" David A, okdebi, daveg, and bobmc, who have made me laugh every week.

love,

Rochelle-Yvonne

I am Thankful for Lung Cancer Research, which has allowed myself and others to be included in clinical studies.

I am Thankful for the wonderful cancer centers and the devoted people who work at them.

I am Thankful for loving and caring doctors, who take what they are doing seriously and really care about and for their patients.

I am Thankful for the sense of humor that many have developed, so that we can still laugh in the face of adversity.

I am thankful that when I was first diagnosed and thought I would not live to drive home...that I am still alive.

I am thankful that when it was so difficult to tell people in my life that I had this horrid disease that not one turned away, but all support me.

I am thankful to learn how wonderful people can be...finding support from people I went to high school with, people I worked with before retirement in 1995, people in my neighborhood, people in my church and all of my family.

I am thankful I have a companion dog who has been by my side ALWAYS...and gave me reason each and every day to get up and get going.

I am thankful that when a doctor kept answering every question with "you were told you could not be cured," that God gave me the strength to find a doctor who gave me hope.

I am thankful for all the hope and support from all on this list and pray that each one of you has a wonderful Thanksgiving.
