Good Morning, Good Afternoon, Good Evening,

Well the results are in after almost a year of chemotherpy. Her goes to the best of my sound body and mind.

Peace, take care and God Bless.

*Started Gemzar and Carboplatin (9 Rounds) in Dec 2002.

CT scans in March 2003. Results not effective nodules (at least 12 or more combined in both lungs) grew more.

*Took April and March off to re-coup.

*Started Taxol (9 Rounds) in June 2003.

Ct scans in August 2003. Encouraging news some nodules disappeared, some grew smaller, developed some new ones, but all are small. Adrenal Glands also smaller.

*Started Taxol again (was scheduled for 9 Rounds) In Sept 2003.

Cat scans in November. Exciting news. All the nodules are gone except for 2. Are very small. Adrenal Glands remarkably smaller.

Had to stop Taxol at 7 rounds due too some side effects. Neuropathy in Left hand and left leg. Not unusual. But also left hand very week. Cannot do anything much with it. Also was waking up during the night feeling like I was not breathing. Very scary. Once I stopped Taxol that stopped. Had a MRI of head In October to see if anything showed up. Told nothing there. Having another MRI soon of head to double-check again.

*Taking time off for the holidays to re-coup and enjoy until I see my doctor on Jan 16, 2003. Will start Iressa then to keep on trucking.

*Issues to still address:

Still fatigue and tired. Limited on what I can do. Taking Ritalin. It allows me to a least feel less fatigued and tired and able to function better. But still need my naps. Still want to get back to normal. Whatever that is. It's been so long.

*Summary:

I’m very fortunate and blessed to have an excellent doctor and health care team that worked very hard to get me to were I’m at. My family, my friends and of course this message (my extented family) board and I guess my wacky way of approach things does not hurt either. Also I never took no for an answer from anyone about anything that I had to deal with along the way regardless of any interference (and there was plenty of that) thrown at me.

My 2-cents in battling cancer: Stay positive and focused. Never give up, never give in. Take one-step and one day at a time. Never take no for an answer. Enjoy life to it’s fullest. Lots of laughing and yes even crying. It rejuvenates the body. And a lot of praying to the big guy.
