Guest hearrean Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 I haven't posted here in awhile, but wanted to get back active in the forum. The results from my 6/10/08 CT scan were great! The written report doesn't even mention the tumor or nodes. It does talk about some scattered opacities which, after a bronchoscopy they ordered, turned out to be a bacterial infection. But talking with my Oncologist's PA at MD Anderson, she indicates the cancer can no longer even be seen on the CT, although she didn't actually use the words NED. They have scheduled a another PET & MRI Brain scan for 9/5, but at least for now, all looks good!! Ken Quote
LovesLife Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Ken - what fantastic news! Whoever thought we'd be so happy for bacterial infection?!? Wishing you the same excellent report in September, but for now, enjoy your summer. Linda Quote
CaroleHammett Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Congratulations, Ken, and what a great way to celebrate the beginning of summer. Thanks also for posting your story. Not just interesting reading, but inspirational to those of us in "fight mode!" Carole Quote
shineladysue Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 WONDERFUL NEWS, Ken. Thank you for sharing this with us. Sue Quote
SandraL Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 That sounds great Ken. I would take that news any day! Good for you. I have found that different docs and ct reports say things quite differently. One might say no evidence of disease and the other one is a bit more wishy washy. Same results. Continued best wishes Sandra Quote
Patti B Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Ken- CONGRATULATIONS!!!! Doesn't matter what term they use - no tumor is no tumor!!! Wishing you continued success and please enjoy your summer!!!! Hugs - Patti B. Quote

fillise Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Woo Hoo! GREAT NEWS! Glad to see you back, Susan Quote
Guest hearrean Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Ned (recce101) had asked me in another thread (which I can't find now) how I made it through the swallowing episodes I was having after about my 3rd week of radiation. There were certainly times when I thought I'd have to have the feeding tube, but I tuffed it out & with the magic throat elixer managed to make it through. The radiation ended 3/16 so I'm pretty much back to what I was prior to my diagnosis. With the exception of being a tad more short of breath which is a result of the radiation, I feel good. Patience & a lot of faith has been the key for me... Ken Quote
luvmydad Posted June 23, 2008 Posted June 23, 2008 Ken, I am so glad to "see" you back and to hear that everything is going so well. I had always followed your posts closely because your history was so very similar to my dads and I was starting to worry about ya. Take care and keep us posted. Teresa Quote
