kzander
My mom passed away today at 1:00pm -- we couldn't stop the cancer from spreading. I'd just like to take the time to thank everyone on this message board. I've spent the last 3 months straight hanging onto your words of encouragement. Thank you all. I'm mad that we didn't get a chance to fight the battle -- but I hope you all have the best of luck in fighting your battles....much hope and love to everyone. -Cheryl-
Kristy, I am really saddened by the loss of your beloved Mother. This disease can be senseless. You have every right to be angry at it! It struck your mother so swiftly, allowing nobody in your family time to prepare for the "fight," especially your Mother.May God watch over you and your family, and see you through this, probably the most difficult day of your life. shirleyb
Kristy, Honey, I am so sorry for you. Losing those we love to this horrible thing called cancer is the worst. We never have enough time with them. You are in my prayers now and will be for months to come. My heart felt sympathy to you and your family. marylou
My mom passed over yesterday, 11-28 at 7:30 am. I was holding her hand. I know what you are going through. It just hurts so much, doesnt it? I am so sorry. My Mom saw her Mother and her Father. Did your Mother have these experiences? My Mom kept reaching and I would ask her what she was reaching for, she keep telling me she did not know. But one day last week so told me she was reaching for her mother. I asked her if she had seen her and she said yes. Several days after that my bother and I were holding her hand and she pulled away from my brother and pointed straight ahead. I asked her what she saw and she said her father. My brother asked her again and she gave the same answer. Several times when she was somewhere else by the look of her eyes she would nod or move her lips. The day before she passed over she raised her hands above her head and brought them down and around like she was hugging someone. I hope you saw the same type things. I have no doubt there is an after life and she is in heaven. God Bless you and your family. Michelle Monroe

Karen
Oh Kristy, my heart is breaking for you. I am so, so sorry. Please remember that this can be a place to vent your feelings as you are going through your grief. It has been a source of help for me over the last few months. We, too, hit a point where it seemed there was no way to stop the cancer from spreading and dealt with the appetite issue. It is so hard to watch someone you love be taken from you at such a young age. I know a heartache that is similar, although I realize losing a parent you have known your entire life is on a different level than an in-law, as much as we do love them. Please remember that you are in so many people's prayers. I pray that God will surround you with those who can support you during this time as well as further on in this journey. ~Karen M. Carolsdaughter
Kristy and Michelle, I am so SO sorry. There is no one how can feel that void that you feel now and in the days to come. Something I did when I lost my mom several months ago is to write down the journey. Trauma causes the memories to fade and I wanted to reflect back on what took place in her very short experience with lung cancer. It has helped me to remember some of the precious things that took place. Michelle I loved what you said about what happened with you mom. My mom talked to her father who had also died of lung cancer 45 years before. It is understandable that many people go into a coma just before they pass away making them unable to talk. I'm sure that before my mom passed on to the other side that she DID know of her infinite worth in the eyes of our Savior. She gave me one last gift before she left. As she was in the finial stages I was holding her hand with one hand while placing the other on the side of her face. Just as she died she let just one tear escape, it landed on my finger. This was a gift to me because to me it spoke volumes. My mom never showed any emotions about her illness other in a little pain at times. The one tear at the precise time told me that she was being welcomed into the afterlife by those she love and she knew that she was divine in the sight of God. May God bless you both as you continue in this journey. May you find peace.. HUGS, Shelly

shelliemacs
I too am so so very sorry about your beloved mom. I can tell just from your picture how you must have been best friends. I lost my mom just 3 1/2 months ago and its still surreal to me. I can't tell you anything that will make it better or ease your pain or greif. These next few days will be horrid, then the weeks will be lonely and empty, then the months will seem like it could not have happened. I am beside myself with empathy for you and please if you ever just want to talk about you mom write me or you can call me. again I am so so so sorry that your mom got this awful disease and its not fair that she had to leave so soon. natalie
Kristi, I am so so sorry. I honestly felt it in my gut when I read your post. I could always relate to you in your posts. I am so sorry for your loss and my deepest condolences. I just don't know what to say. Michelle, I am also sorry for your loss. I can't imagine the grief you feel right now, but I enjoyed reading that your grandparents were communicating to your mother. What a comfort to know that they were with you there and helped your mother through this. I will say a special prayer for you both.
