niececola
I feel so foolish writing this to all of you, I fear that the prayers would be better spent on our friends here. But I am asking for some prayers today for our dog, Clover. She had a stroke last night. I just do not understand why something like this would happen right now, she is my mom's closest companion and has been there to comfort my mom through this nightmare known as lung cancer, as well as the added surprise of the panic attacks and fear that are with my mom each day. If you have some time, please say a prayer that God will heal her and that she will be around for many years to come. Thanks.
dadstimeon
Hi Niececola, Clover will be in my prayers, as well as your mother and you. We do become very attached to our animals. They are part of our family. Peace, take care and God Bless. Snowflake
May I add a request for my dear Daisy? She's been my sweetie since I "rescued" her from an Alaskan pound and was diagnosed this morning with kidney failure - she has a 20-30% chance of pulling through this. I look at her odds as being twice mine and wish with all my heart that she will be the bright "Hope" of a horrible year. My prayer is that Clover and Daisy don't have an opportunity to meet anytime soon (since ALL dogs go to Heaven)...
pritchie
It doesn't sound foolish to me. Our pets have always been part of the family. Prayers for Clover and Daisy. Pamela
MO_Sugar
Prayers for both animals. My Shaba has been a great source of comfort to me over the past 6 months and I don't know where I would be today without her. God Bless you all (and your animals). teresag
I don't think prayers are ever "spent." Like love, the supply is unlimited, growing larger each time we offer one up for someone, or some pet, in need. (You can see by my avatar that I understand devotion to pets. ) Best wishes for a swift recovery for both little doggies, Teresa

Snowflake
Denise, I hope your news was better than mine. Daisy didn't beat the odds, I will be going to the vet's to put her to sleep this evening and burying her at "Grampa's house" where she loved to run and play. Hell of a way to end a year that began with a cancer diagnosis...I would say it's gone from bad to worse - cancer is scary, this just breaks my heart. niececola
Hi Becky, I am so sad to hear that Daisy is not going to make it. My heart is breaking right along with you. We found out this afternoon that Clover has encepalitis. I am holding out hope that she will pull through, but every website I have read said GME is fatal. I am begging my mother to give her a chance, but the more I read, it seems that Clover will not be the same dog if she makes it through this and my mom just can't take care of her. My prayers are with you and your darling Daisy. Simply put, this just sucks. Denise

betplace
To be fighting this Beast and then having your faithful loving pets sick as well is the total pits!!! My heart goes out to both families dealing with this and prayers for Clover and Daisey as well! Betty
Margaret
Sorry I am late in responding, but my heart is with any pet in need. I would not have made it through this without my dog, Hollywood. My daughter came from Tucson for my chemo treatments and my son and daughter-in-law came over from Las Vegs to help with things, but Hollywood was there day and night. She accepted and responded to everything I went through...and loved me with or without hair. The bond between our pets is deep and meaningful. I am so sorry about Daisy and I pray Clover will be fine for a long, long time. Peace, Margaret (and Hollywood)

Guest DaveG
Our pets are so important to us, and don't think for a moment that they don't understand what is going on. As I type this, my little Chihuahua is asleep on my lap. At night he will cuddle up to either my wife or I. He's been known to cuddle to one of us for awhile then go and cuddle with the other. He's my little confidante, as I talk to him alot. He just sits there taking it all in, then he will hop on my lap, stand up and lick my face. It's just as if he is trying to lick all my troubles away.
niececola
Thank you all so much for your prayers. I thought I would just send a quick update re: Clover. She is still in the hospital, but seems to be making progress. She is very alert and is eating and drinking on her own. The vet did tell us it would take weeks to see her back on her feet, we are praying she proves them wrong! She will most likely have balance problems, but should be ''normal'' again one day. It still is a wait and see game and we are trying to do our best not to think too far ahead. It would break our hearts all over again to see the progress she has made, only to be told a month from now that her quality of life may never be the same again and it would be best to put her down. So, for now, we are letting go and letting God! Thanks again so much for keeping my family in your prayers. Denise
DeanCarl
snowflake, There are two special pets waiting at the rainbow bridge. Duke, the beagle I grew up with and my wife's very special cat, Belle Michelle. I'll be sure to include a messge in my prayers tonight to make Daisy welcome and comfortable when she gets there.
