Nancy O. Posted December 2, 2003 Posted December 2, 2003 If I have a pet scan will it detect cancer/mets to the bones as well? Thanks. Nancy O. Quote
Hebbie Posted December 2, 2003 Posted December 2, 2003 I asked my doctor that same question -- he told me that the PET is pretty accurate at picking up bone mets. I believe the bone scans pick up questionable areas, but the PET Scan actually pics up "hot spots" or cancerous spots in the bone. Hope this helps! Quote
Nancy O. Posted December 2, 2003 Author Posted December 2, 2003 Thanks Heather. Yes it helps a whole lot. I just want to be informed before my next Oncologist visit. Thanks again. Nancy O. Quote
