One more question about the pet scan

If I have a pet scan will it detect cancer/mets to the bones as well? Thanks. Nancy O.

I asked my doctor that same question -- he told me that the PET is pretty accurate at picking up bone mets. I believe the bone scans pick up questionable areas, but the PET Scan actually pics up "hot spots" or cancerous spots in the bone.
