Lenny is at peace now

I wanted to let everyone know that Lenny is at peace now. He passed away at around 7:00 p.m. this evening at the hospital. He had been in the hospital for over 2 weeks. He initially went in for pnuemonia but then other things developed. He was really suffering towards the end today. He was fighting for every breath. I went in and told him that it was okay to let go and then he did. He fought this disease with everything that he had. He put up a good fight. He was only 32 years old. This is so not fair. I did not want to leave him at the hospital but I had to. I am so overwhelmed with grief and I think that I am still in shock. I have to be strong though for our two children ages 2 and 7. All I know is that he got a great deal of support from all of you. He had wanted me to tell all of you today that he was in the hospital but fighting like Hell...but he was gone before I had a chance to tell you. Thank you everyone for all of your support that you gave to my husband. I know that you all helped him deal with this so much better.

Lori,

I am so sorry that Lenny did not win this fight. It is so not fair. Stay in touch with us. I have found this board and those on here to be the most helpful in dealing with all the pain and grief that goes with losing those we love so much.

May God watch over you and give you peace. Know that Lenny is not suffering any longer.

I am so so sorry.

Lori,

I hope that you somehow find some comfort in our messages of sympathy. It is so hard to try to find some reason in why this happens, its just not right.

My thoughts are with you and your two little boys...

Lori,

I am so sorry. Lenny fought this disease with everything he had, he did so for the love of his family. He loved you and your sons so much. I for one am honored that Lenny allowed us to have insight into those feelings that he shared for you and the boys in his posts. His sons will know him, you will not let them forget their father. I bet Lenny won't let them forget either. God Bless you and your family. WE will all miss him!

Lori I am so very sorry for your loss-----although death at any age is heartbreaking, it is horrible when it happens to someone so young with young children---please stay on this board for comfort and feel free to vent anytime ---we are not only here to support cancer patients but to also help caregivers and people that are grieving

my deepest sympathy

Lori,

I am so sorry to hear that Lenny lost his battle. Much the same happened with Hugh - he contracted pneumonia and other things developed and he just couldn't fight them off. The doctor said it was like pulling the can from the bottom of a pryamid. It will be very hard for you and your children but you can do it! Every time I feel like giving up I think about Hugh and remind myself I have to keep going because he would have wanted me to. My heart goes out to you and the boys.

Laurie, I am, too, am shocked and so very saddened by the news of lennys passing. I really liked him, I loved reading his posts. He fought such a good fight. Please know that you and your children are in my thoughts and prayers. We will miss Lenny here. If you need anything or just need to 'talk', we are here for you. You are part of our family. Deb

Lori,

I'm sorry that I didn't get to read many of your husbands posts. I joined in Oct. so I went back to read about him. What a fighter he was! Great spirit! He was a brave man because of his strong desire to fight - and also what he did for a living. I can't even imagine your grief right now. I am so so sorry. I will pray for you and your boys.

May God Bless,

Kim
