Marci
Hi All, My mom's petscan showed activity in her heart. We took her today for a TEE which they take a camera and go down through her throat to look and take pictures of the heart. Well, the results were that they found a 2 cm mass in her right atrium. Right now, they tell us that it is not blocking anything and blood flow is ok but to get to the oncologist right away and to start a new chemo. Please post if anyone has had anything found in the heart. I am trying to stay strong for my mom and to tell her that we can still fight this but we just feel shell shocked that the heart is involved now. Any feedback on this would be great. tnmynatt
Marci, Just did some research. I think you need to talk to a cardiac surgeon about the possibility of surgery. Praying for your mom.

Connie B
I had what they call a Myxoma Tumor in my left atrium. Most myxoma's are not cancerous but they do need to be removed. Could your mom have a Myxoma Tumor? Or are the doctor's saying it's her lung cancer that has spread? Read my story. You can click on it below. Good luck, Connie

CAL
Hi Marci, Sorry to hear that your Mum is having such a difficult time and hope that things begin to pick up soon. From the beginning of my diagnosis I've had issues with my heart. Although it was somewhat difficult to tell from the scans it seemed that my tumor had spread from the mediastinum to the left atrium and a vein leading from the heart. The radiation and first-line chemo seemed to do the trick and zap the main tumor. Although I continue to have issues with a rapid heart beat (for which I'm given medication) I keep my fingers crossed that the heart tumor has been resolved. I hope the same for your Mum.
